Who we are

On the phone with you or behind the scenes supporting all our Navigators are Nicky McGrath and Bridie Scanlon – they are as passionate about your quality of life as you are (or even more!).

Nicky – began her nursing career in 2002, working for three years in an orthopaedic–neurosurgical ward at a private hospital. She then transitioned into a Care Coordinator role within a Hospital Admissions Risk Program (HARP) at a major public hospital in Melbourne, focusing on patients at risk of readmission due to chronic health conditions or complex psychosocial factors. Her experience also includes working with older adults in residential aged care.

Later, she returned to nursing as a Care Advisor for a Home Care Package provider (now known as Support at Home), giving her a deep understanding of the complexities involved in accessing support as people age. With Planwise, her primary focus is to reduce the confusion and stress people often face when planning and organising their later years.

Bridie – is a psychologist with more than 15 years of experience working in a multidisciplinary clinic, providing treatment to people living with chronic pain, adjusting to health-related illnesses, and managing general mental health challenges. Throughout her practice, she has also completed additional training specialising in working with older adults (for both pain and mental health), healthy ageing, and health promotion.

She works within the biopsychosocial model of health, which explores the interconnection between biological, psychological, and socio-environmental factors – in other words, she works with the whole person. Bridie has come to recognise that focusing on only one part of your life will help only that part, not the whole of you. Her experience and training inform how our Navigators work with our customers, and she looks forward to hearing from you.
